CLASS DESCRIPTION
This course covers the fundamentals of talent, location and music releases as well as when and how to acquire permits from the NYC Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre & Broadcasting.  Discussion will provide an understanding of the terminology used in these documents, the legal rights they protect, and why they are necessary from both a legal standpoint and the point of view of a potential distributor.

INSTRUCTOR: ERIC TRENKAMP, Professor of Film/Video, Pratt Institute
Eric Trenkamp is a professor of film/video at Pratt Institute. He is also the assistant to the Department Chair, Film/Video and works with various departments across the campus to execute the mission of the Film/Video Dept. His mission is to prepare film majors for the realities of real-world film production, including understanding copyright law and how to acquire permits, releases and insurance.
