This year, the Bushwick Film Festival will focus on leaving a lasting impact on the Bushwick community. Not only do we value the visions and voices of our local artists, but the input of all residents play an integral role in our mission.
Embracing the spirit of Bushwick, showcasing its qualities, and revamping a sense of community pride is what we strive to do. In 2013, we have made efforts to develop programs that educate and enlighten the community we serve. During the Festival’s run in October, we will host a panel discussion featuring local politicians, business owners, and community board members. The purpose of this event is to bring to light ways in which those in the community can improve the conditions of Bushwick. Whether they be matters of education, gentrification, economics, and the environment, we want all local residents to have the opportunity to share their concerns so that they can make a difference in their community.
