CLASS DESCRIPTION
An overview and analysis of the best practices in short film screenwriting and storytelling. This screening/lecture will give participants a clear view of tackling their next short screenplay. Some of the best shorts from NYU and around the world will be screened, discussed, and analyzed. Working methods include; coming up with a practical idea, and working the three steps toward a strong screenplay.
INSTRUCTOR: JOE GILFORD, Professor of Screenwriting, NYU
Joe Gilford has worked in film, TV and theatre, as a producer, writer and director for over 35 years. He has taught screenwriting at NYU Tisch Undergraduate Film department since 1999. Joe’s new book on screenwriting, “Why Does the Screenwriter Cross the Road?…and other secrets of screenwriting” Will be published by Michael Wiese Books in May 2015.
